Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Stan, including the Stan mobile app, trivia content, store packs, subscriptions, multiplayer features, custom quiz tools, and related services (collectively, the "App"). Stan is provided by Steven Alexander (the "Developer," "we," "us," or "our").

By downloading, accessing, purchasing, subscribing to, or using Stan, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Apple App Store Terms

Stan is distributed through the Apple App Store. Your use of Stan is also subject to the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Apple Standard EULA"), available at: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

These Terms supplement the Apple Standard EULA. If there is a conflict between these Terms and Apple terms that apply to your download, purchase, subscription, billing, refund, or use of Stan through the App Store, Apple's terms control to the extent required by Apple or applicable law.

2. Eligibility

You may use Stan only if you can legally enter into these Terms. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Stan only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

You are responsible for making sure your use of Stan complies with all laws, rules, and regulations that apply to you.

3. Accounts and Sign-In

Some features may work without signing in, but certain purchases, restore features, multiplayer features, account syncing, or cloud-backed features may require Apple, Google, Firebase, or another supported sign-in method.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. If you use Stan as a guest, some progress, points, purchases, or unlocks may be limited to that device or may not be recoverable if the app is deleted, the device is replaced, or data is lost.

4. Trivia Content and Gameplay

Stan provides trivia questions, answer choices, explanations, categories, game modes, packs, and related content for entertainment purposes. We try to keep content accurate, but trivia may contain errors, outdated information, disputed answers, typos, or omissions.

Stan is not intended to provide professional, educational, legal, financial, medical, historical, or other expert advice. You should not rely on trivia content as a primary source for important decisions.

We may add, remove, edit, rotate, rebalance, or reorganize categories, questions, packs, rewards, difficulty levels, scoring rules, or gameplay features at any time.

5. Stan Points and In-App Rewards

Stan may include virtual points, rewards, unlocks, streaks, daily bonuses, or similar in-app items ("Virtual Items"). Virtual Items:

• Have no cash value.
• Are not legal tender or real money.
• Cannot be transferred, sold, exchanged, redeemed for cash, or used outside Stan.
• May be changed, limited, expired, reset, or discontinued where permitted by law.

We may adjust the number of points awarded, the cost of packs, reward timing, daily reward rules, eligibility for rewards, and other economy settings to improve balance, prevent abuse, or support app updates.

6. Store Packs

Stan may offer free, points-based, subscription-included, or paid quiz packs ("Packs"). Packs may be organized by genre, category, theme, event, season, or promotion.

Some Packs may rotate in and out of the store. If a Pack is removed from the storefront, it may no longer be available for new purchase, but users who previously unlocked or purchased that Pack should continue to see it in their playable library when supported by the App.

Pack availability, names, artwork, categories, question counts, prices, and included benefits may change over time. Purchased Packs are intended for personal, non-commercial use inside Stan only.

7. In-App Purchases

Stan may offer non-consumable in-app purchases, including paid Packs. In-app purchases are processed by Apple through your Apple ID and App Store account.

Prices, taxes, payment methods, purchase confirmation, receipts, refunds, Family Sharing availability, and billing issues are handled by Apple according to Apple's terms and policies. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

If a purchase does not appear in Stan, use the restore or refresh purchase features in the App if available, make sure you are signed in to the correct Apple ID and Stan account, and contact Apple Support or Stan support if the issue continues.

8. Stan Club Subscription

Stan may offer an auto-renewable subscription called Stan Club. Stan Club benefits may include features such as included normal Packs, weekly premium Pack picks, reduced or removed banner ads, bonus access, or other membership benefits shown in the App at the time of purchase.

If you purchase Stan Club:

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
• The subscription automatically renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period.
• Your Apple ID may be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID subscription settings.
• Deleting Stan does not cancel your subscription.
• Prices and benefits may vary by region, time, promotion, and App Store settings.

If Stan Club benefits change, we will make commercially reasonable efforts to describe the current benefits in the App. Some subscription benefits may depend on availability of Apple services, internet access, app version, account status, or third-party services.

9. Refunds and Cancellations

Apple handles App Store purchase and subscription refunds. To request a refund, manage a subscription, or review billing, use Apple's App Store, Apple ID, or Apple Support tools.

We cannot guarantee that Apple will approve a refund request. If Apple issues a refund, associated access, Packs, benefits, or subscription status in Stan may be removed or adjusted.

10. Ads and Third-Party Services

Stan may show ads unless you have an active ad-removal benefit, such as an eligible Stan Club subscription. Ads may be provided by third-party services, including Google Mobile Ads or related Google services.

Stan may also use third-party services for authentication, cloud syncing, multiplayer, purchases, analytics, consent management, app infrastructure, or crash/error handling. These services may process data according to their own terms and privacy policies.

Your use of Stan is also subject to our Privacy Policy, available through the App Store listing, the App settings screen, or the privacy link provided in the App.

11. User Content and Custom Quizzes

Stan may allow you to create, save, import, share, or play custom quizzes, display names, multiplayer names, or other user-provided content ("User Content").

You are responsible for your User Content. You agree not to create, submit, share, or use User Content that:

• Violates someone else's copyright, trademark, publicity, privacy, or other rights.
• Is unlawful, abusive, harassing, threatening, hateful, sexually explicit, exploitative, defamatory, or otherwise harmful.
• Contains private information about another person without permission.
• Promotes cheating, spam, malware, scams, or unauthorized commercial activity.
• Interferes with Stan, other users, multiplayer games, or app security.

You keep ownership of your User Content, but you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, display, process, modify, transmit, and use your User Content as needed to operate, improve, protect, and provide Stan.

We may remove, limit, moderate, or disable User Content or accounts if we believe these Terms were violated or if doing so is necessary to protect Stan, users, third parties, or the App.

12. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, modify, or create derivative works from Stan except where allowed by law.
• Use Stan for commercial trivia services, public performances, gambling, betting, contests with prizes, or resale without our written permission.
• Exploit bugs, automate gameplay, manipulate scores, abuse rewards, bypass purchase checks, or interfere with leaderboards or multiplayer systems.
• Access Stan using unauthorized scripts, bots, scrapers, emulators, modified clients, or other tools that disrupt the App.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, data, servers, purchases, packs, or services.
• Use Stan in a way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the App or related services.

13. Intellectual Property

Stan, including its name, design, code, artwork, interface, game systems, categories, original trivia content, pack structure, store presentation, logos, and other materials, is owned by the Developer or licensed to the Developer and is protected by intellectual property laws.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms and Apple terms, you receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Stan for personal, non-commercial entertainment on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by Apple rules.

No rights are granted except as expressly stated in these Terms or required by law.

14. Third-Party Names and Fan Topics

Stan may include trivia about public figures, entertainment properties, music, movies, television, sports, games, history, science, anime, brands, franchises, or other cultural topics. These references are for trivia, commentary, identification, or descriptive purposes.

Unless clearly stated, Stan is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or approved by any featured person, company, brand, team, artist, publisher, studio, platform, or rights holder.

All third-party names, trademarks, copyrights, and other rights belong to their respective owners.

15. Updates, Changes, and Availability

We may update Stan automatically or through the App Store. Updates may add, remove, modify, or replace features, content, Packs, subscriptions, rewards, ads, store layout, compatibility, or technical requirements.

Stan may be unavailable, interrupted, delayed, or limited because of maintenance, updates, network issues, third-party services, Apple services, device compatibility, region restrictions, or events outside our control.

We are not required to provide any particular feature, Pack, question, category, reward, or service forever, except where required by applicable law or Apple policy.

16. Termination

You may stop using Stan at any time. We may suspend, limit, or terminate your access to Stan or certain features if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, created risk or harm, abused purchases or rewards, infringed rights, or used Stan unlawfully.

Termination may result in loss of access to certain features, progress, points, User Content, or account-linked data, subject to applicable law and Apple policies.

17. Disclaimers

Stan is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, quiet enjoyment, and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that Stan will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, accurate, compatible with every device, or available in every region.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so some of the above may not apply to you.

18. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Developer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; loss of data; loss of profits; loss of goodwill; device issues; purchase interruptions; service outages; gameplay errors; or inability to access Stan.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims relating to Stan or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid directly for Stan purchases or subscriptions during the three months before the event giving rise to the claim, or 100 U.S. dollars, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limits of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.

19. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Developer from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your use of Stan, your User Content, your violation of these Terms, your violation of law, or your infringement of another person's rights.

20. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice in the App, on the App Store listing, or through another reasonable method.

Your continued use of Stan after updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
